Introducing the MOD-31 Elite
TL;DR
Meet the MOD-31 Elite, the upgraded, professional-tier version of the Nightfighter platform. It adds a 4-pin Fischer port, a legit Grayhill rotary switch, an integrated IR illuminator, independent manual gain control, and the full panning + articulating functionality the MOD-31 is known for.
Holiday Launch Bonus (Limited Time):

Why the MOD-31 Elite Exists
Mil, LEO, and (based) dirty civilians have been asking for a version of the MOD-31 that natively supports:
- 4-pin Fischer battery packs
- A proper Grayhill rotary switch
- A dedicated manual gain knob
- A built-in IR illuminator
- The same panning + articulating features as the Nightfighter
- The full MOD NODS modular ecosystem (pods on/off, thermal pod swap, etc.)
So that’s exactly what we built.
It’s not replacing the Nightfighter-MG. It’s the version for people who want the full feature set and external Fischer power support straight from the factory.
What’s New on the MOD-31 Elite
4-Pin Fischer Battery Pack Port
Native compatibility with PVS-31 battery packs and other 4-pin Fischer power sources.
Holiday Bonus:
Every Elite purchased this season includes a free Fischer battery pack that runs on CR123 or AA batteries, plus the Fischer cable.
Grayhill Rotary Switch
A real Grayhill.
Not a toy.
Not a mushy button.
Not a questionable clone.
It has a very satisfying, clearly defined detent that feels exactly like what people expect from legacy USGI systems (PVS-14, PVS-7, PVS-15).
If you know, you know.
Integrated IR Illuminator
A short-range navigation/admin IR illuminator built directly into the top of the bridge behind a protective IR-transparent window.
Dedicated Manual Gain
Separate analog gain knob. Pods are fully compatible with MX-11769 pigtail tubes.
Everything the MOD-31 Platform is Known For
Panning + Articulating Arms
Quickly adjust FOV between 40° or wider 55° alignment with rock-solid mechanical hard stops.
Modular Ecosystem Support
Each pod can be removed and used as a standalone modular monocular with a PVS-14 style mount, using the MOD-14 Phantom battery compartments.
Either side can be swapped out for a thermal monocular using the mini rail thermal arm.
RH25 / PFalcon thermal arm mount in development as well.
Holiday Bonus #2:
Every Elite includes a free mini-rail thermal arm.
Drop in a Breach, Sidekick, etc., and you’re ready to dual band analog + thermal.
Individual Pod Power Shutoff
Pods turn off automatically when articulated out and power back on when returned.
Internal CR123 Power (Optional AA/AAA Cap)
Run internal or external power depending on your setup.
Interpupillary Stops
Set and return to your exact IPD quickly.
Durability
Ultra high impact resistant polymer (ABS, Nylon, Polycarbonate), 6061-T6 aluminum dovetail, and stainless hardware.
Designed to meet IP68 water resistance and MIL-STD-810H environmental and impact requirements.
Lightweight Diopter Housings Included
Every housing includes lightweight diopter housings for use with standard PVS-14 eyepieces.
Complete System Weights
Approximate system weights with optics and lightweight diopters:
- RPO 3.0: ~15.5 oz
- RPO 4.0 (NVD-Next): ~16 oz
- Qioptic / Bright-Path: ~18 oz
- Fujinon (Noctis / NVD): ~18.75 oz
With RPO 3.0 or RPO 4.0 optics, the MOD-31 Elite achieves PVS-31-class system weight.
Upgrading from Nightfighter-MG
MG owners can upgrade by swapping to the Elite bridge.
Your pods, optics, thermal arms, and accessories remain compatible.
