How It Works with the MOD-14 System

Traditionally, the PVS-14 housing features two electrical contacts near the 1/4-20 mounting interface, originally intended for an auto-shutoff function when used with certain specialized arms and accessories. The MOD-31 Nightfighter bridge repurposes these existing electrical contacts to provide capability for external power input. When a MOD-14 Phantom or MOD-14 Lightfighter monocular is mounted to the Nightfighter bridge, these contacts enable centralized power management and auto shutoff functionality, all without the use of tools. This means:

Centralized Power Control: The bridge can supply power to your monoculars, eliminating the need for separate battery management on each unit.

Auto Shutoff on Articulation: Flip a monocular up to turn it off, flip it down to turn it on—streamlining operation and conserving battery life.

Seamless Power Switching: Monoculars can automatically switch between their internal CR123A batteries and bridge-supplied external power. The Nightfighter bridge can be used with or without a battery in the MOD-14 monoculars.
